Puttin' on the Ritz
That was the tune Eric and I were singing the entire time we were in Puerto Rico. You see, we ended up staying at none other than the Ritz Carlton - something we didn't plan on, but we were very happy to adjust our plans. Eric's dad had booked a room there and decided to let us enjoy it. It's a long story, but basically the wedding was moved from another hotel to the Ritz and all the guests who booked a room at the previous hotel were moved to the Ritz as well, at no additional charge. All I have to say is that there were many happy guests at Erika's wedding, and Erika got a dream wedding by the sea.
We took full advantage of the pool area and direct beach access. Charlotte swam for the first time and loved it. She started kicking instinctively and had a great time. All that excitement must have tired Charlotte out since she napped every afternoon for about 2 hours - and we napped with her.
We got back to Houston late Monday night and decided to stay in a hotel before traveling back to San Antonio. Any guesses to where we stayed? Motel 6. The difference in accommodations was stark. I have now officially been spoiled and will only accept 5 star accommodations in the future - yeah right!

Five star all the way! It's hard to do first class, then have to slum it again. I *cannot* do Hotel 6, Super 8, Days Inn, any of that anymore. I've just had to suck it up and realize that all those Dateline investigations have sullied my appetite for cheap rooms.
P.S. I looked at that top photo again and couldn't be bothered with the gorgeous hotel. All I could think before zooming in was, "That had BETTER not be Erik!" Heh heh.
Beautiful! Are we allowed to call you again?
That is so weird that we were both at beach weddings on the same day! I sang "Grow Old with Me". That's the FOURTH time I've sung it at a wedding! See the trend you started?
funny - I sang that song at a wedding about three years ago.
